GPR Technician
Echo GPR Services is looking for an individual who is self-motivated and is able to expand services in the existing Kansas City and surrounding areas. Echo GPR uses some of the most advanced GPR and Utility locating equipment available. The ideal candidate demonstrates adaptability and commitment to continuous learning. Sales experience, construction, and/or utility locating experience is a plus. No experience with GPR? No problem. Our training program is second to none. The GPR Technician will be responsible for performing non-invasive subsurface surveys using ground penetrating radar equipment. This role requires proficiency in GPR technology, data acquisition, and interpretation of results for a variety of applications, including, but not limited to, construction, utilities, environmental, and geotechnical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- GPR Survey Operations: Operate ground penetrating radar equipment to conduct subsurface investigations in various environments such as construction sites, roadways, buildings, and utilities.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Accurately collect GPR data in the field and process results for analysis. Interpret GPR data to identify subsurface structures such as pipes, cables, voids, and geological features.
- Site Preparation & Setup: Prepare sites for GPR surveys, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed. Set up and calibrate GPR equipment according to project specifications.
- Reporting: Compile detailed reports based on field data, including images, radargrams, and analysis results. Provide clear and actionable findings to clients and project managers.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other field staff to ensure the successful completion of surveys and projects. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to clients, both in person and through written reports.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to ensure safe operation of GPR equipment in the field. Maintain awareness of environmental and site-specific hazards.
Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant experience may substitute; technical training or certifications in geophysics, surveying, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in operating GPR systems or conducting subsurface surveys is highly desirable. Experience in construction, utilities, or geotechnical fields is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with GPR equipment and software for data collection and interpretation. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain GPR equipment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 60 pounds. Must be able to travel as needed, including sitting and driving for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when interpreting radar data and generating reports.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and interacting with clients and team members.

Service Oriented: Customer first mentality.

Certifications: GPR training or certification is a plus, but not required. Other relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, First Aid) are a plus.

Location: Must be able to commute to and from Olathe, KS, daily as needed.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Candidate consent will be obtained prior to the screening process.
Work Environment:
- Fieldwork in various environments (construction sites, roads, industrial sites, etc.)
- May require travel to different job sites

Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
